NEWS RELEASE

STATEMENT BY DESAUG ON THE DEATH OF H.E. PROFESSOR J.E.A. MILLS:

The Distance Education Students Association of University of Ghana has learnt with the deepest shock the demise of His Excellency, Professor John Evans Atta-Mi
lls. We could not believe our ears when we heard the news on Tuesday afternoon at exactly 3:45pm. We strongly believe that our Ex-President is already with the Lord.

Distance Education students have heard and read a lot about his days as a student of University of Ghana and also a lecturer at the Law faculty. He was a great character that current and future generations can learn from. He was a man of peace and was very truthful in his line of work.

The prospects he gave to the youth, was unprecedented. He was also advising young individuals and group to put up good conduct in their pursuit for success. The youth of Ghana will never forget him.

He was a father for all, a mentor to many, and an Uncle to every citizen of this country. One particular phrase we will remember prof. with is “My brothers and Sisters” which he usually mentions in his public speeches. Indeed we have lost a great figure.

On behalf of the Distance Education Students the nation’s premier University, his Alma Mater we wish to express our deepest condolence to the bereaved family, and we pray that the good lord whom the President served well comforts all of us. At this time of such a huge loss, our prayerful thoughts go out to the people of Ghana and, expressly, to his wife, Mrs Naadu Mills, and his entire Friends and Relatives.

Until we meet again Prof, May your soul rest in perfect peace.
